Aviatic MRO opens innovative aircraft maintenance facility at Šiauliai International Airport (SQQ), Lithuania

Lithuania-based aircraft maintenance and repair organization Aviatic MRO opened a state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance facility at Šiauliai International Airport (SQQ), Lithuania. The new hangar facility, built in cooperation with the leading aircraft lease company World Star Aviation, is aimed to become a one-stop shop MRO for any commercial aircraft type with the ambition to be one of the leading MRO facilities in the region.

The brand-new maintenance facility has 4 bays for narrow-bodies or 1 wide-body and 2 narrow-bodies configurations occupying a total area of 17,000 sq. m. including warehouses, workshops, and offices. The hangar is fully modular, can be adapted to any MRO needs, and fits up to B747-8 aircraft. Aviatic MRO will provide line and base maintenance services for the Airbus A320 and A330, as well as Boeing 737 Classic and NG aircraft including scheduled heavy maintenance checks, end-of-lease projects, Delivery/Redelivery checks, modifications, and other MRO services, based on customer’s demand.

Full-service operations Aviatic MRO hangar facility will begin in Q4 2023. The investment in the maintenance facility is planned up to 20m Euros and it will bring in the region around 1 000 high-skilled aviation technician jobs.

Aviatic MRO opened the first stage of the entire facility which is aimed to become one of the largest aircraft maintenance centers in Europe. The company already has acquired a permit and has the land for the expansion – a second hangar with 6 bays for narrow-bodies or different configurations with 1 or 2 wide-bodies, occupying a total area of 23.400 sq. m.

The location of the aircraft maintenance facility is easily accessible from any major European hub airports – it takes only up to 3-hour flight. SQQ has 2 one of the longest runways in the region – 3,5 km length – and can accommodate any type of commercial aircraft.
